The University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science (SSPPS) is seeking applicants for a full-time, university staff position as the Student Advancement/Compliance Manager. This position is responsible for the SSPPS student advancement program, which includes assisting individual students in achieving sustainable progression and academic success via implementation of various school and university policies and procedures, referral to various school and university resources and general project management and problem solving. It is responsible for the coordination, management and successful resolution of unique or unusual circumstances and situations experienced by individual students for the purpose of ensuring student advancement. In addition, this position functions as the compliance manager to ensure accordance with a variety of federal, state, and university regulations and school policies. This includes responsibility for investigating and resolving compliance issues following the appropriate university and school protocols.
More specifically, this position has the primary responsibility for communicating with students as well as members of the faculty, staff or others as needed, to identify, define, investigate and resolve unique student-specific circumstances and situations; serving as the primary liaison to faculty members to assist students with unique or challenging circumstances; soliciting advice from and referring students to various school and university resources; serving as the primary liaison between Office of Student Services (OSS) and Campus Assessment Response and Evaluation (CARE) team, University Legal Counsel, and other school and university entities regarding student issues; assessing requests for uncommon disability accommodations and situations; managing and achieving successful resolution of situations involving applicants and students with respect to drug testing, criminal background or other school or administrative requirements; engaging with students and communicating with originating entities (e.g., Scholastic Advancement and Appeals Committee (SAAC), Student Ethics and Conduct Committee, Peer Assistance Services, Colorado State Board of Pharmacy) to monitor contracts, actions or conditions placed on students; and assuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws such as Title IX, Americans with Disability Act (ADA, ADAA and related section 504), State of Colorado Pharmacy Practice Act and associated rules and regulations and others. In addition, this position must accurately document and track all engagements and student progression using a searchable database; track student academic performance in accordance with the Scholastic Advancement and Appeals Policy (SAAP) and provide administrative support to SAAC; compile and assist in the review of cases to be presented to other committees such as Experiential Education or Student Ethics and Conduct, as needed; tabulate and act upon Performance Assessment for Successful Students (PASS) documents; tabulate retention statistics; debrief all cases and situations to identify, propose and implement potential areas of improvement (e.g., to school policies and procedures, etc.); identify and implement technological and other efficiencies to the realms of student academic tracking and support; and collaborate with other Anschutz Medical Campus schools and programs, as well as other schools and colleges of pharmacy and national professional associations and entities to develop and implement best practices in the areas of student support. The salary range for this position is $50,156 to $80,000 and will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
